Memoir of a Chubby Child

My Truth About Growing Up Fat

By Jean M. Jerome

Memoir of a Chubby Child is an amusing and warmhearted collection of autobiographical short stories about an overweight child who navigates growing up in an age where being thin is everyone’s ideal. These heartfelt stories capture the author’s experiences of growing up fat in a society that fanatically and compulsively favors being slim.

Jean M. Jerome was an avid tennis player for over 30 years and attended countless tennis tournaments as a spectator. She was unable to show the same prowess for golf, however she played bad golf for many years. Her other loves include listening to music and reading. But, writing is her favorite avocation.

She spent 38 years in the education system. Throughout that time, she taught English and German, was Director of Activities and Special Projects coordinator, and was an A.P. Curriculum Administrator, among many other responsibilities. She received special awards during her tenure, including a yearbook dedication that she still treasures today.
